- He wants to end the Federal Reserve. Who would regulate inflation and provide a central system to control currency and interest rates? The Federal Reserve is essential to our nations. Thomas Jefferson vehemently opposed the Fed when it was being passed through Congress, but later came to realize its importance to the country and supported it.
- He wants to eliminate income tax. That is bad because income tax accounts for the majority of government revenue, without it our national debt would raise substantially and would not help anything what so ever.
- He wants to remove the EPA (refer to Newt's evaluation for explanation)
- He wants to remove restrictions on drilling. Then there would be no regulations in place for safety, which would raise the risk of oil spills. We all know what happens when that regulation goes away as evident by the BP oil spill. There would also be no limits on where to drill, potentially endangering very fragile ecosystems and species.
- He wants to abolish the Patriot Act. Today, the greatest threat of terrorism to our country is homegrown terrorism. The Patriot Act combats that and eliminating that would open the date for that kind of terrorism. The facts are is that some terrorists are hiding in our own backyard.
- He wants to abolish the TSA. First off, they are the security agency regulating air travel. With the inclusion of the body scanner in early 2011, this last year was the safest year for air travel. Being put through that screening is not a violation of any rights, the only right being violated is to those who want to be safe while flying by those against the body scan. Private parts are covered and people don't sit behind those and make fun of others. I have been through it and it was easy and is a great piece of technology.
Pros
- He would want to veto any unbalanced budget
- He would refuse to raise the debt ceiling
- He supports to amnesty for illegal immigrants. There are legal ways to be apart of this country, we should not punish taxpayers to pay for illegal immigrants who come here illegally. They break the law, there should be a punishment. It is like breaking into someone's house, it is called burglary/home invasion.
- He wants to provide tax credits to alternative energy resources. This is an area that needs to be invested in to start to waive our dependence on oil all together and move to a not only cleaner energy nation, but a cheaper one.

Thomas Jefferson never agreed with a centralized bank as its power would become controlling. Have you read the creature from Jekyll Island? Do you know the powers that created the Federal Reserve? They created it and pushed it to support their interest, banking interst. One of the biggest was JP Morgan himself. Do you realize one of the reasons we got involved in WW1 was just as much JP Morgan loosing or the fear of not being paid by the Allies because they were on the verge of collapse in late 1916 and early 1917? The Federal Reserve is run by bankers for bankers hell the loaned money, OUR money, to European banks in the billions this past year. The Federal Reserve has enslaved the people of this country through debt and a currency backed no more than in faith nothing truly backing it!!! Essentially they create money out of thin air through a key stroke. We owe this private bank more and more in interest every year yet you want to keep it? They dont benefit us the taxpayer but the large banks who they have propped up with our tax dollars.
ReplyDeleteNow on to your crap Patriot Act and homegrown Terrorist. YOu know I am a terrorist according to the DHS as all veterans are terrorist according to them. The Patriot Act, the NDAA, SOPA, and PIPPA are nothing more than infringing on the rights of Americans through the fear of terrorism. Our biggest threat is not some mud hut living muslim on the otherside of the world but the politicians we keep electing in DC allowing to whittle away at our rights. In the NDAA the executive branch CAN detain US citizens for "terrorist" ties. Will this eventually include political oppossition? The Patriot Act they can eves drop on American citizens and the big government D and R politicians love this! Yes Romney, Santorum, and the Grinch are big government controlling politicians. TSA preventing terrorist attacks now there is a hoot these are the same idiots that tried to tell me they are the fronline on the war in terror when I was coming back from Afghanistan in uniform!! These idiots would screw up a lucid wet dream. You can live in fear but me I prefer my freedoms and constitutional rights as an American as we are more likely to die in an auto accident than a society that cannot exert influence beyond Pakistan! Also if you are so adamant about this war on terror why is it we did not go after Saudi Arabia as this is where those idiots came from!
ReplyDeleteDon't get me wrong, I do think the Federal Reserve does need to be reformed. Should a private entity be able to control government tender? Most certainly not. If the currency used is official, it should be official under the government, under the people. The Federal Reserve should become a smaller government agency that has less oversight than many other agencies, but still is ultimately run by the government. The only reason the Federal Reserve should exist is to maintain a national mint and to control inflation. Private banks have a cear lack in the ability to maintain interest rates. By maintaining inflation, this controls deflation and can result in less severe recessions and a fast rise in economic growth, which is what happened during the Great Depression. However, the president should not appoint the Fed board, but rather the Congress, with appeals handled by the judiciary system to ensure some a strong candidate, even though that is hard to maintain in the government and almost nonexistent. Also another point, the agency should not be allowed to lend any money. In closing, the agency should exist, it should be a lot smaller and have no lending ability to other nations, only to U.S. banks pending Congressional approval, but only the ability to maintain a government currency and the ability to control inflation. I think we can agree on the fact that no private run system should be allowed to our money to other countries and control the people's currency.
ReplyDeleteNo offense but I have high doubts that DHS labels veterans as terrorists. I read the report saying that veterans are more likely to contribute to extremism and form terrorist cells. This report was written by one man (most likely a democrat). There is valid points for concern that would entail a belief that there could be right-wing extremism that could result in some sort of violence. This report was also written back right around the time Obama was elected, our first black president; which of coursed raised questions whether or not there would be an assassination attempt. I am in no way protecting that report, but I think it is widely hed in the DHS that veterans are not terrorist. SOPA and PIPPA have a valid point in which companies information whether it be videos or etc. or being violated, and that they don't have the same rights as they do outside of the web, but the extent to which information would be censored is uncalled for. I do not support those two bills.
ReplyDeleteLike I said, should it be the representatives that are responsible or the people who vote for them? People get to choose, they have a right to, are they using that wisely?
I do not agree with the piece of legislation under NDAA 2012 that an American thought to be connected to terrorism can be detained without trial indefinitely. If they are an American arrested on American soil, they should receive the proper rights given under the Constitution.
About the TSA, I understand the anger going through security and being asked to remove any part of your uniform, my brother had to go through that a couple of times. Understand though anybody can dress up in uniform and pretend to be a soldier, it has happened one too many times, that is why there are measures against it. Now, showing ID and dog-tags should be enough to pass through security without disrupting any part of the uniform whatsoever. Who else would take over air travel security?
As for the war, those terrorists were harbored and mostly trained in Afghanistan and reported to whomever they do to people in Afghanistan. Terrorism will never be stopped, but should we do the best to keep countries out of terrorists hands, from people being oppressed by violence that results in an international threat? There is a point when the line is drawn. When the world is threatened by group of people, when the lives of millions are threatened by those who harbor violence and hatred towards everyone accept themselves. This group of terrorist do not just present a small insignificant danger, they have proven their threats time and time again, at the result of thousands of our own citizens that are now in the ground because of them, and the countless other soldiers killed at the hands of these terrorists.
Saudi Arabi does not pose a threat, they have worked extensively with our nations, as we have with them.
Saudi Arabia funds madrassas that radicalize Sunnis which was also the home to the highjackers. The TSA has not secured the US anymore than the boyscouts. Have you looked at their track record and the criminal charges that have been filed against these so called security agents? Before the US government got involved in airport security it was up to the airport and airlines which had to follow federal guidlines. Now for the war you do realize in the 80s we trained these people correct? We then abandonded them like a cheap slut we were done with. Why is it you are so scared of people across the globe when our own government allows armed gangs to infiltrate everyday into our country through the southern border. Is this not a greater threat? Also look at our track record we have supported a great number of dictators and still do that supress the people through murder from Sierre Leone, yes there was an article today about Charles Taylor and his CIA connections, to supporting terrorism in Iran. In the 80s we supported corrupt murderous leaders in central America. You do know the US backed AQ rebels tied rebels some of whom killed Americans in Iraq dont you? We are doing the same in Syria. Do some deep research. Why are we backing the same group you are so scared of yet fighting them?
ReplyDeleteNow your comment on DHS veterans link the director of DHS is the one that stated that so tell me what they think. The DHS is another level of beuracracy that does nothing to secure the US but gives the percpetion it does. SOPA and PIPPA protect those that are paying politicians a great deal of money. Politicians are bought a paid for and their souls go to the highest bidder. The Federal Reserve should be aboloshid and the coining of money should return to the Congress who sets the value of US currency where it belongs per the Constitution. This would then be delegated to the US Treasury who is held accountable to the Congress. The Federal Reserve does not in anyway care about the people as look what they have done with QE and low interest rates which has and is hurting the American people through depleted savings and inflation.
Overall the problem is too many people vote for the party and not the person.
I do not think I illustrated what I want to see in Afghanistan well enough, so allow me to do that. I believe the majority of troops should be taken out of Afghanistan, cut 75-90% of funding to the country, and leave a group of a few thousand special operation forces to focus on infiltrating and destroying enemy strongholds and killing off the leadership without going town to town and staying there to watch over everyone.
ReplyDeleteI am also well aware that we gave them money and weapons, and unfortunately we paid the price. We did not think about future consequences, but were so focused on the Russians/USSR and how we could get a shot at them every chance we had. I do not support what the government did in the past.
As for air security, present day threats should not be handled by individual airports. Lack of funding for several airports would under-mind severely their ability to have enough security, which would in turn create a domino effect when those people that went through very little security travels to large venues, enlarging the threat of any sort of attack well over 10-fold. There must be a centralized agency in charge of air security to ensure all ports of entry to other places are equally secured and that federal guidelines are handled equally throughout. Like I said before, does the TSA need a bit of reforming? Of course, what agency doesn't?
As for illegal immigration, I believe we are on the same page. There should be no amnesty for illegal immigrants and our boarders should be more tightly secured and a bigger concern than most international problems.
As for funding dictatorship like regimes, I know very well what we have gotten involved in the past and oppose such U.S. sponsored dictatorships. Though many of the reasons involve in supporting a centralized ruler was to prevent a terrorist/rebel state, it ended up turning into a revolution and oppression problem. The U.S. should have taken different steps, such as supporting a ruler over seen and checked by a committee and some sort f legislature, instead of supporting an outright dictator.
I don't support the outright censorship of the web, but I do think companies ave a valid point in saying that their information, etc. should have the same copyright protections everywhere, not just some places. The DHS does a lot to protect and keep this country safe despite what an opinion may be of an individuals words. Without it, our country would be left severely exposed to many dangers and threats states aren't even capable of handeling together.
And I absolutely agree with you. I would actually like to see parties abolished in the government so people can only vote for the person, but that is in a perfect world and we are far from it. I could not agree with you more on that point though.
The TSA once again research who they search to keep you safe on the plane little old ladies and kids!!! I have seen their so called screening process and it is a joke! Yes I sat in an airport and observed them.
ReplyDeleteAs for supporting dictators do you really know our country's history of installing leaders for business interest as well? You do realize our small wars in the early 20th century were all business interest correct? You do realize we overthrew an Iranian government in the 50s to install the Shah because of British oil interest correct? Here is a simple thing read Washington's farewell address as he warned in getting involved in the nature we have for the past half century in other country's affairs along with the establishment of political parites. We are our own worse enemy you do know what blow back to our policies are right? We screw up a county piss its people off what do you think they are going to do be our friends?
DHS is more concerned with monitoring US citizens. They have been authorized to look at facebook and blogs for "threats"? Now who defines threats? You know dictatorships start with small encroaching steps before you know it guess what. Look at the rise of any tolitarian society and you will see they keep their people in fear to gain more power and control of its people. The US has survived two centuries without TSA because that is the military's job not some knee jerk created agency. Also that is why we have an FBI so why in God's name do we need DHS we dont. All these agencies kept Nazi spies off our soil without DHS. It is a waste of money which could be better used to pay down our nations debt. Last thing hear you do realize the terrorist one right as they wanted to change America well in my eyes they have as they have created the begining of a potential police state by keeping its people in fear and open to sacraficing their Constitutional rights in the name of Security. Remember Ben Franklin "He who sacrifices freedom for security deserves neither". I prefer freedom than an over reactive security state. Cousin this is how I feel and have researched these items thoroughly. I no longer believe we fight them there so we dont have to fight them here slogan as it is a bunch of crap. These people hate us because we stick our nose to far out. Yes I know this because I have talked to these people. I have had plenty of discussions with IRaqis and Afghans on this subject. They ask how do we fight terrorist and support Israel. They ask why do we think we can change people. They have asked why do we get involved and stay even after we achieved what we wanted. Lastly they blame us because we have meddled so much. Do you really think this could lead to more blowback? Even the CIA says our actions in the past led to the present. In short maybe our Foriegn Policy needs to change. After all Americans dont like other countries telling us what to do but we sure get pissed when others dont do as we do kind of hypocritical dont you think?
The U.S. is far from being totalitarian. People who do think we are headed to some sort of dictatorship state are slightly paranoid. One of the primary jobs of DHS is to observe threats here at home, not only for terrorists but for criminals as well. Anywhere people are, such as Facebook, or a webpage, so can there be threats. People make information public when they put it on Facebook, so why shouldn't DHS be able to look at it? People use copyrighted information from companies on the internet, why shouldn't the government be able to look in a public site or profile? Have they looked into my Facebook and 98% of all the other Americans, most likely not. When threats come up, they do check those threats, when there isn't a viable threat, they don't just go snooping around people's private lives.
ReplyDeleteAs for the TSA, I thought it was the airport's job for security following federal guidelines, what would the military have to do with that? Granted the National Guard could step up and do that, would it be the proper job of the military to being doing airport security work?
Maybe there are wasteful branches within the DHS, but it involves branches such as the Coast Guard, Customs, Boarder patrol, immigration, and Secret Service. The DHS provides for a centralized department of security that is able to control the other branches to keep them on task and working together. Too many agencies draw a line between themselves and don't outright work well with others. What the U.S. does need is one centralized security department that would include the FBI, DEA, and all other police type agencies to have a connection and a roadway for information that is quick and efficient, which is certainly not the case now.
In present day that quote has become highly irrelevant in terms of air and transportation security. We have different technology now, rules change, and so does lines of thinking. He who sacrifice freedom for security risks having no freedom...that should be the revised quote. I go through body scans at airports because I know that my life isn't more important than the right some people think they have to just walk on an airplane with no security. Iraq we should not have been there I will say that. Afghanistan we had an absolute reason to be there, and the reason being there now is on a hanging on a line. Why would someone tell us what to do? We are not a country swarmed with terrorist that threatens innocent lives within their own backyard and around the world. We are more than capable of handeling are internal workings relatively speaking. How can a country like Afghanistan a couple of years ago capable of handeling their own country when they had a broken army, government, and people. How were they capable of handeling a situation that threatened every free country on this Earth?
